The Lord of the Rings is an amazing fantasy book series written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The series is made up of three main books including The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. The Hobbit acts as the prequel for the entire book series. First published in the 1950s, this series has become one of the most famous fantasy stories of all time.
The story takes place in a fictional world. The main character is a hobbit (an imaginary race with people that have hairy feet) named Frodo Baggins, who is given the dangerous task of destroying a powerful ring known as the One Ring. This ring was created by the Dark Lord Sauron, and if Sauron regains the ring’s possession again, the hobbit’s world will be destroyed. Frodo does not go on this journey alone. He is joined by a group called the Fellowship, which includes Aragorn, Gandalf (a wizard), Legolas (an elf), Gimli (a dwarf), Boromir, and other hobbits including Sam, Merry, and Pippin.
As the journey continues, the Fellowship is separated, and each character faces challenges that test their courage, loyalty, and strength. Frodo and Sam continue toward Mount Doom, where the ring must be thrown into fire to be destroyed, while the others fight battles to protect their world from Sauron’s army.
One thing I really liked about The Lord of the Rings is how detailed the author described the world. Tolkien illustrated the setting, history, and characters of the world like a real place.
However, in my opinion, one thing I didn’t like about the series is that it felt slow sometimes. Some chapters felt very long and included a lot of descriptions, which made me feel like skipping ahead.
Overall, I would give The Lord of the Rings series a 8 out of 10. The books teach you lessons about friendship, bravery, and hope. I recommend this series for readers who enjoy adventure and fantasy.
