One of the cutest and most viral brands right now is Jellycat. Jellycat is popular for its Amuseables plushies. Amuseable plushies are famous for their unique shapes, such as pickles, bunnies, or rulers, with cute faces on them. The plushies are insanely cute, but the prices are not so much. Is the JellyCats worth the price and the hype, though?
Underrated:
Jellycat has become a major trend in 2026, with many adults and children collecting them for comfort and decoration. Many say Jellycat is underrated because it turns everyday objects like croissants and monkeys into cute characters.
“People collect Jellycats to decorate their house and I think it’s cute,” seventh grader Stella Lee said. “I also think seeing the collection of them gives people peace.”
Additionally, Jellycats uses a high-quality material, resulting in an extremely soft and high-quality product.
“Jellycat has many cute designs in my opinion,” seventh grader Aina Miyazawa said. “Even if the prices are expensive, they are very durable for long usage.”
With over 1,000 designs, Jellycat has created many collections, such as ‘Bashful Bunnies’ and ‘Bartholomew Bear and Friends’. The brand Jellycat has won a lot of loyal customers who are waiting for every new drop.
“They are high quality, have lots of varieties, sizes, and they’re very cute,” seventh grader Ceci Bhave said.
Overrated:
Even though Jellycats are extremely cute and soft, many agree they can be slightly overpriced. Jellycats are known for their cuteness and soft texture, but many state that these same characteristics can be found for less money.
“I think that people enjoy it by its texture, type, and just other things that other brands literally have,” sixth grader Anna Zhu said.
Adding on to this claim, many other students also come to an agreement that these cute, overpriced stuffed animals are similar to other brands.
“I personally love jellycats because the quality is really good and they’re really cute, but I think it’s a little overrated,” seventh grader Elyse Kwon said. “First, I think the prices are a little high compared to the stuffed animals. Second, there are many other similar-looking stuffed animals. Honestly, I think they are both underrated and overrated, but a little more overrated.”
A lot of people argue that the designs are very unique, as well as have good quality, but I don’t think that justifies the cost, especially for something that may just sit on a shelf or be outgrown over time.
“I think they are overrated because they seem the same, just like one of those cheap dolls they sell at the mall,” seventh grader Aeda Baang said.
Hashtags like “#Jellycat” and “#Amuseables” have become a viral sensation. With more than tens of millions of views of Jellycat-related content on social media, the brand has been more popular than ever. More people getting to know about Jellycats keeps the trend going, which makes more and more people get inspired to own one, perhaps just because of its popularity.
“Jellycat plushies are overrated. See, other stores can sell the same quality for cheaper, but people like Jellycat because it’s aesthetically appealing to the current trends here, “ seventh grader Jessie Guo said. “Nowadays, it’s just whatever is being bought a lot becomes popular. Or if someone sponsors it who has many fans.”
Many others believe that Jellycat is overrated because of their collabs.
“While they are very cute and great plushies for kids and adults, some people think that Jellycat should do (in my opinion) unrealistic collabs with popular brands that don’t make sense, like a makeup or drink brand,” seventh grader Maya Straka said.
So, what do you think? Do you think Jellycats are underrated or overrated?
