Wicked: For Good is the sequel of the movie Wicked. In this movie, Elphaba now lives in exile, alone in the Ozian forest, and is viewed as the Wicked Witch of the West. She continues her fight for animal rights and her mission to reveal the lies of the Wizard, while Glinda embraces her public role as “Glinda the Good”. The movie explores their complex friendship, which is tested by the political climate of Oz as they must each make crucial decisions that will shape their destinies and the future of Oz. As Elphaba and Glinda’s paths split, the movie begins to intersect with events and characters from the classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz story, bringing Dorothy and her friends into the mess as the witches head toward their final confrontation.
In my opinion, I think that the visuals in this movie are really good, and I love how they included the original story, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. However, a few of the transitions feel too abrupt (some of them are even a little funny, it’s like, calm and happy to another scene that is wild and even a little scary), and the story plot feels a tiny bit uneven. Overall though, it really isn’t that bad of a movie that I’ve heard about. Personally, I would rate this an 8 out of 10. Just a heads up for anyone that wants to watch this movie, this movie is also pretty emotional, so you might want to bring a tissue if you think you’re going to cry a lot.
