Due to dangerously cold temperatures, AAPS announces school closure.

On Jan. 22, 2026, AAPS announced that schools would be closed on Jan. 23, 2026, due to extremely cold temperatures. The temperatures reach below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and feel like -9 degrees Fahrenheit.

“Due to the cold weather advisory forecasting dangerously cold temperatures, the Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23,” said AAPS superintendent Jazz Parks.
