On April 17, 6th grade counselor Krista Deszi departed from Clague.
“I am writing to share that my last day as a school counselor at Clague Middle School will be Friday, April 17, 2026,” Deszi said. “This decision was not made lightly, as my time here has been truly meaningful.”
Now, Clague Middle School has only two counselors, and they will split the 6th grade students in half by last name. The 7th grade counselor will be responsible for 6th grade students with last names starting with the letters A-K, and the eighth-grade counselor will be responsible for 6th grade students with last names starting with letters L-Z.
“Mrs. Derscha (8th grade counselor) and Mr. Hallman (7th grade counselor) will be splitting the 6th grade students until a new counselor is hired,” said Deszi. “I have done my best to provide all the important information they may need so everything runs smoothly.”
Deszi is sad about moving to a new school for her job.
“While this decision is primarily financial, please know that leaving Clague and this community is bittersweet,” Deszi said. “The relationships I have built with students, families, and colleagues have meant the world to me, and I am grateful for every opportunity I have had to make a positive impact.”
