As winter approaches, it’s a time for giving back to the community. Clague recognizes the importance of ensuring that every family has access to essential winter gear and the means to celebrate the holidays, regardless of their circumstances. That is why this year, Clague is continuing to hold winter giving in order to help families in need.
“Clague has had a winter giving program for many years prior to my arrival in 2023,” Clague social worker Chelsea Knight said. “It started due [to] so many families needing winter gear and support with celebrating winter holidays.”
This year’s winter giving will benefit 17 different families who have students attending Clague. They are requesting items such as snow boots, coats and blankets. People interested can donate until Friday, Dec. 12.
“Our Clague students are so resilient, you would never know that so many of them have experienced hardships, such as homelessness or being separated from their siblings due to foster care placements,” Knight said.
