During the most recent Clague Fun Night to celebrate the end of quarter 2, the Clague Girls Basketball B-Team received their trophy and were honored for winning the Ann Arbor girls basketball B-team City Championship. This means that they finished at the top of the standings out of six Ann Arbor middle schools including Clague, Tappan, Scarlett, Forsythe, Slauson and A2 STEAM. The team went undefeated, winning all 10 of their games.
“The girls basketball (B) team did great this season,” Clague Athletic Director Brandon Copeland said. “The whole Clague community is very proud and I am very excited about what they did this season.”
This was the first year that Clague went to an A-Team and B-Team format instead of just seventh and eighth grade specific teams. Clague was able to be successful with this format, and they will most likely continue to keep using it. This will also be the format for the Men’s basketball season in quarter three.
