Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

A: “Hi, my name is Edward Zhang. I’m from Clague Middle School and I’m in 7th grade. I love to swim and play video games. I also play the violin, and I have an older brother who plays the saxophone. I don’t have any pets, but I hope to get one soon.”

Q:  What has been your favorite part about this school year?

A: “I think my favorite part about the school year is that we get to stay in bed for school. It’s very nice to just wake up and brush your teeth then go straight to school, without having to worry about traffic or missing the bus. I also think that it’s way easier to organize your work, but way harder to remember when it’s due.”

Q: What is one goal you have for this year?

A: “One goal I have this year is for me to get top 8 in NCSA(Basically National). However, there are a ton of people better than me at swimming and I’m only ranked 50-100th for 12&U in the US, so I think I will need to work harder to achieve that goal.”

Q: What is your favorite class and why?

A: “My favorite class is Biology because our teacher is very chill and the work isn’t very hard. She also lets us talk and stuff during class(sort of).”

Q: What hobbies/sports do you do?

A: “I swim, and I also play the violin. Some people say that playing an instrument is boring because they don’t like “classical music”. However, I think they don’t like it because they haven’t been listening to it. If they grew up only listening to classical music, I think they would like instruments and music more. I personally enjoy the music that great composers make, and I spend an hour every day just listening.”
