On the morning of Thursday, Dec. 12, it was communicated by Ann Arbor Public Schools that school would be canceled due to inclement weather. The predicted temperatures below 21 degrees Fahrenheit render turbulent forecast, fierce winds and hazardous road conditions, which have guided AAPS to announce the snow day.
“Due to progressively worsening icy road conditions in the Ann Arbor area this morning all Ann Arbor Public Schools will be closed today, Thursday, Dec. 12,” AAPS said in their communication. “All elementary and middle school before and after-school activities are canceled.”
Subsequently, AAPS disclosed another message concerning the high school activities.
“All high school before-school activities are canceled. A decision on high school after-school activities and evening Rec & Ed programs will be made mid-day and shared directly with participants,” AAPS said. “The Rec & Ed website will be updated by mid-afternoon with the status of Rec & Ed evening activities, including community rentals.”
