Passing time should be longer because there is barely enough time to get to all of your classes, you will not be tardy and you can have time to go to the bathroom or your locker.
If you need to get to your class and you need to go to the bathroom or to your locker you might be tardy because that will take a long time. If your class is on the other side of the school then you barely have enough time to get to it. If you don’t go to your locker or the bathroom because you’re worried you’re going to be late then you just go straight to your next class and get no break. Passing time should be eight minutes long because it leaves a lot of time to go to your locker and be able to get to class on time, while avoiding a tardy.
“Having longer passing periods in schools is beneficial for both teachers and students,” freelance writer Dylan Arthur said. “For students, longer passing periods give them enough time to gather their materials, use the restroom, and allow them to move at a more relaxed pace, which helps reduce their stress levels. This would also help students who are struggling to keep up with their classes by allowing more time to ask their teachers questions or seek help from other students.”
I agree with what Arthur said because if you are walking really fast, rushing to your next class, then you will be stressed. When you get to class then you might not focus on your school work, only focusing on being stressed and not paying attention to your class. If you have a big test right when you get to class and you’re stressed from rushing to class then you’re probably going to perform poorly on the test.
If we had more passing time, then you could use the bathroom. Most of the time there is not enough time to use the bathroom so when you get to class you ask your teacher if you can go. This can create problems for teachers and students. This can cut into the teacher’s time when they are teaching something. It can also mess up your class work because of all the things you missed while you were gone in the bathroom. This is why we need longer passing time.
