Clague is having its very first Winter Market, set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Clague Gym. This event is open to Clague students who wish to price and sell items such as toys, books, trading cards, and handmade crafts to interested buyers.
Students can rent a table for $15 to display their goods. All items must be in good condition and complete with all pieces. Sales must be managed by the students themselves, and they will retain all profits made from their sales.
Setup for the market will begin at 12 p.m., allowing students to arrange their tables before the market opens at 1 p.m.. It is required that tables be manned by students throughout the event.
Additionally, the Clague Winter Market helps students develop skills such as negotiation, which is an allowed and fun part of the Clague Winter Market.
“I think it will be pretty successful, I know Clague did this 3 years ago and I remember being able to go and seeing a bunch of really, really cool things that kids were selling,” Clague 8th grader Jay Tavane said. “Hopefully people sign up and do it because I think this would be a fun and unique experience for us all.”
Students interested in participating can secure their tables by paying online through Cheddar Up or by dropping off cash at the main office.
