On April 8, staff and students of Clague Middle School were able to see the total solar eclipse that the whole country was raving about. Total solar eclipses happen at least 2 – 4 times a year, the next time they will happen in Michigan is in 75 years! Ann Arbor had a totality rate of 98.7 %. Students were flooding out of the building to see this once-in-a-lifetime event; let’s have a recap of what happened

Jay Tavane, Social Media and Print Editor-in-Chief
Jay Tavane is an eighth grader at Clague Middle School, this is her third year doing The Cougar Star. She loves to paint, draw, and watch TV. Some of her fav shows are "The Rookie" and "One Piece!" She plays the trumpet and is a part of BPA. She also has an older brother who is at Huron (Go River Rats!!!). She has two birds and dreams about getting a husky.

Sophia is currently in eighth grade and has been part of the Clague Publications for two years. Sophia plays the cello, piano, and does karate at PKSA Ann Arbor North. In her free time, she loves to bake, read, hang out with friends, and improve her photography skills. Sophia’s favorite movie is “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” and her favorite flavor of ice cream is strawberry & cookies’n creme.
