A selection of students from Clague have had their artwork chosen to be showcased in downtown Ann Arbor as a part of the Youth Art Month display downtown. The display is visible in the front windows of Blue Tractor BBQ, a popular eatery located at 207 E Washington St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
“The art display at Blue Tractor BBQ is an important part of Youth Art Month, which is celebrated in the month of March,” Clague art teacher Sarah Griesinger said. “Schools from all over Ann Arbor partner with local businesses to showcase student artwork during this time!”
This display is not only a great way to encourage young, middle-school artists by exhibiting their works, but also adds a vibrant display of color to Ann Arbor’s environment. It is a unique opportunity that not everyone gets for the community to appreciate the talent held in local schools.
For those looking to support these students, as well as the hosting eatery, Blue Tractor BBQ welcomes visitors during its business hours. A meal can be enjoyed at the eatery during the following hours: Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m..
The artwork will be displayed in the windows of Blue Tractor BBQ through April 8, allowing ample time for viewers to see the showcase. Additionally, since it is street-facing, viewers will be able to appreciate the art without having to enter the establishment.
“People should go see student work at Blue Tractor BBQ to show support for Clague Middle School artists!” Griesinger said. “People are generally surprised by the quality and imagination behind the pieces on display, including the employees of the restaurant when I hang the work up in February.”
