Halloween has been celebrated by trick or treating, corn mazes to dressing-up in costumes and apple-bopping. And for Clague, Halloween is celebrated with a Fun Night. On Oct. 27, 5:30-8 p.m., students will be invited to play games, wear costumes, and Trunk or Treat.
“I think fun night is a great opportunity for socializing,” Clague 7th grader, Yuri Kim said. “But you have to make sure you don’t get any VOEs or else you can’t attend fun night.”
In addition to celebrating Halloween, Fun Night is also a way to celebrate and reward good behavior in school. This entails no VOE, suspension, or detention received in the month of October to be able to attend Fun Night.
“To attend Fun Night you must also have $5 for an entrance fee,” Kim said. “But if you want other stuff … then bring some more money.”
Students will pay a $5 entrance fee, which includes pizza and a drink, to enjoy an array of activities. This consists of board games, soccer, basketball, volleyball, karaoke, and much more. But to make this all happen, volunteers and donations are imperative.
“We encourage parents to use the signup genius provided in this week’s Cougar Connection if you would like to volunteer and/or make a donation,” principal Kyron Harvell said.
Volunteering your time and donating items from the wish list help to make Fun Night possible and the most memorable.
“Proceeds from our Fun Night will go towards supporting our Clague Band, who made the State Finals,” Kyron said. “And to support future field trips and initiatives through our amazing PTSO.”
